This issue raised has been a long going issue. It seem's nowadays players are willing to play for any national representation. We've had the likes of Tomasz Radzinski, A Polish born Canadian forward, Alex, a Brazillian born Turkish winger to name a few. Even the European champions turned to Marcos Sienna to fill a midfield position.

These issue's will always continue and I can't see a way for Fifa really ever establishing a definitive role. What I will say though is that the chopping and changing of nationalities is making the game a farce. The highlighted case of Lukasz Podolski and Miroslaw Klose both brought dismay to the Polish national sides who argued that youngsters that are seen as a talented individual can be nabbed at a very early age when really they have no inclination for nationalism or identity. While both Podolski and Klose have since said to the press that they feel like Germans, this causes endless disheart to the born nations fans. I'm not implying that this should be changed so they only represent the place of birth, but I feel the only way that we may see harmony is if Fifa act at the youth development side.

But then we may see a set of EU legislatives blocking any implementation meaning Fifa and football is back at square one. Lets hope there is a law that sticks but I can't see it lasting to establish this factor.
