Does nobody want to stay in the Premiership?
Whilst things remain tight at the top of the Premier League, they remain equally as close at the bottom with no side putting together any kind of form to suggest they are certainties for the top flight next season. Last night’s fixtures were a case in point with none of those club seemingly in relegation trouble managing to pick up all three points.
In what makes for pretty shocking reading, ahead of tonight’s games the form of the bottom eight clubs looked something like this:
13th – Sunderland – one win in 16
14th – Wigan – one win in 10
15th – Hull – one win in 11
16th – Burnley – one win in 14
17th – Bolton – one win in 8
18th – West Ham – one win in 10
19th – Wolves – one win in 8
20th – Portsmouth – one win in 10
Despite salvaging a draw at the death last night against Sunderland, it’s fair to assume that Portsmouth will be plying their trade in the Championship next season (if they are still existence). So who will be joining them? On current form, or lack of it, it’s seemingly impossible to tell.
Can Hull, West Ham or Wolves make any headway this evening? Can any side discover some form and break free from the relegation mire? As ever, let us know your thoughts.
