Darren Bent falls foul of the power of social media

Here at The Football Blog, we like a story about players using social media. Sites like Facebook and Twitter can bring the superstar footballers a little closer to the fans, and it’s always amusing when one of them is caught out.

Sunderland-bound Darren Bent has apparently been whingeing on his Twitter page about how long the transfer is taking to go through.

See below for what he wrote, probably assuming that it wouldn’t go further than the community of Tweeters following him but now that Tottenham have seen it, they might be a little more enthusiastic about getting rid of him.

He began with, “Why can’t anything be simple. It’s so frustrating hanging round doing jack s***.

Followed by, “Do I wanna go Hull City NO. Do I wanna go stoke NO do I wanna go sunderland YES so stop f****** around, Levy. Sunderland are not the problem in the slightest.”
